Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has launched the Harbour Portal, a new digital platform aimed at simplifying harbour operations and improving coordination between vessel owners, operators, crews and other stakeholders.
The portal will be introduced in phases, beginning with vessel registration. Information sessions have already been held for vessel owners, while harbour crews are being guided through the registration process.
The registration period will continue until July, after which all vessels using the harbour must be registered and possess a valid permit.
Once fully operational, vessel owners will also be required to submit harbour usage requests through the portal and receive approval before accessing harbour services.
According to MACL, the new system is expected to improve service efficiency, strengthen operational coordination and provide a more transparent and streamlined process for managing harbour operations.
