The redevelopment of Boduthakurufaanu Magu has reached another key milestone, with all sheet piling work now completed, according to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The company said sub-base works on Segments 4 and 5 have also been completed, while Aggregate Base Course (ABC) works are currently underway in preparation for asphalt paving.
Asphalt works are scheduled to begin on July 7, with the remaining concrete works expected to be completed within the week.
The project covers an 830-metre stretch from the Hulhumalé ferry terminal to the Local Market, widening the road to four lanes to ease congestion in Malé.
In addition to road expansion, the project includes new pedestrian walkways, a stormwater drainage system, road signs, and markings aimed at improving traffic flow and road safety.
