Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Saeed has announced that the Maldives’ Raajje Transport Link (RTL) network will connect all inhabited atolls by the end of January 2027, fulfilling a key government pledge.
Responding to questions in Parliament, Saeed said RTL services are currently operating in 15 atolls with 35 high-speed ferry vessels, while only five atolls are yet to launch the service. He said nationwide expansion is expected to be completed within the next year.
The minister also highlighted the government’s digital transformation efforts, noting that 24/7 government services are now available through the VanGov platform. He added that all land transport services are targeted to be fully digitized by the end of August, with services also being made accessible through eFaas and other digital platforms.
