Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS), and Maldives Red Crescent (MRC) to strengthen crisis management and emergency preparedness at Velana International Airport.
The agreements establish a framework for closer cooperation, including improved emergency coordination, clearer communication, and joint training, drills, and simulation exercises to enhance response capabilities.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed said the partnerships are an important step in ensuring the country’s main international gateway remains safe, resilient, and well-prepared to respond to emergencies.
