Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has built a 3,000-square-foot shed at Malé Commercial Harbour to speed up clearance of perishable goods.
The new shelter provides space to unload and temporarily store perishables, helping traders move goods faster.
As of yesterday, 13,113 cargo packages, including 480 tonnes of perishables, had been cleared. MPL said operations will continue daily until midnight.
