Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef says the relocation of domestic services to Terminal 2 at Velana International Airport is a major upgrade for passengers.
Speaking at the ceremony, he said the move replaces long-neglected domestic operations with a modern, more spacious facility. He noted the old terminal caused frequent inconvenience for travellers.
The Vice President said the new terminal will provide faster services and support economic growth. He credited President Dr Mohamed Muizzu for prioritising the relocation.
He also thanked MACL staff for completing the transition.
