Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed a deal to develop roads in F. Nilandhoo.
The agreement was finalized during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island as part of his tour across four atolls.
MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudee signed for the company, while Construction Minister Dr. Abdullah Muthalib represented the government.
Nilandhoo residents, a community of 2,500, have long struggled with poor road conditions. Rain often turns the roads muddy and impassable. MTCC said the project will finally bring a lasting solution.
The development, valued at MVR 115.23 million, must be completed within 720 days.
Alongside the road project, MTCC will also carry out land reclamation for a canning factory and construct a new harbor in Nilandhoo.
