Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) will construct an airport in F. Nilandhoo under a new government deal.
Finance Minister Moosa Zameer and MACL MD Ibrahim Shareef signed the agreement during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing atoll tour.
The president said the 2023 election pledge was his biggest promise to Nilandhoo. Land has already been reclaimed, and more will be added for an 1,800-meter runway.
He assured the airport will be completed and handed over within 30 months.
Nilandhoo Airport is one of 12 new airports planned this term. The President also launched projects for a police station, council building, sewerage, and waste management.
