The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has confirmed that reclamation work for the Boduthakurufaanu Magu North Side Road Development Project is now 90 percent complete.
MTCC said sheet piling along a 132-metre stretch has been finished, and C-channel and anchor block installations are complete. Precast panels for the new quay wall have also been delivered to the site.
The MVR 144.5 million project covers an 830-metre stretch from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Local Market. It includes a 737-metre coastal wall, a four-lane road expansion, new pedestrian walkways, and a stormwater drainage system to reduce flooding.
MTCC said the development will improve traffic flow, enhance accessibility, and provide safer infrastructure for road users. Work is being carried out in three phases, with completion expected within 455 days.
