The construction of a Fitness and Recreation Center in Vaavu Felidhoo has been officially handed over to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) today.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony with local residents, coinciding with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island as part of his tour of four atolls. MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudi signed on behalf of the company, while Sports Minister Abdullah Rafiu signed for the ministry.
The 4,005-square-foot facility, valued at MVR 5.34 million, will include groundwork, concrete and machinery work, roofing, exterior walls, and painting. The project is scheduled to be completed within 240 days.
MTCC said the center will provide important health and social benefits to the island’s 696 residents.
