President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called on Maldivian writers to promote truth, honesty, and positive ideas through their work as the country marked the 34th Writers’ Day.
In a message shared on X, the President congratulated Maldivian writers and encouraged them to spread truthful information while promoting respectful and meaningful communication within society. He urged writers to share constructive ideas that benefit both the community and the nation.
The President highlighted the importance of literacy and the role of writing in spreading knowledge and truth. He called on writers to take pride in the Maldives and ensure that their words contribute towards the country’s progress and development.
First Lady Sajida Mohamed also extended greetings on Writers’ Day and expressed appreciation to those working to preserve and promote Dhivehi literature and language.
This year’s Writers’ Day theme, “Become an Honest Writer,” focuses on encouraging writers to uphold honesty and responsibility in their work. The annual event recognises the contributions of Maldivian writers to the development of Dhivehi literature and culture.
