The Maldives Police Service has recovered more than MVR 600,000 in cash and stolen property linked to robbery and theft cases reported over the past week.
According to police statistics, a total of MVR 611,416 was recovered between June 28 and August 4 during investigations and searches conducted across different police stations and units. The recovered items included cash and stolen belongings.
The recoveries were made by several police divisions, including Vilimalé Police with MVR 627, Henveiru Police with MVR 175,000, Galolhu Police with MVR 233,881, Maafannu Police with MVR 104,008, and the Special Enforcement Team with MVR 97,900.
Police said the recoveries were the result of ongoing efforts to investigate reported crimes, recover stolen property, and return items to their rightful owners. The Maldives Police Service stated that it remains committed to protecting public property, reducing crime, and maintaining public trust through continued enforcement efforts.
