The Malé City Council has renewed its call for action to address water leaking onto roads from buildings, urging the public to help identify problem areas across the city.
According to the council, water discharged from air conditioning pipes installed on buildings continues to spill onto streets, creating inconvenience for pedestrians and affecting the city’s cleanliness.
Mayor Adam Azim said relevant authorities have been instructed to improve affected areas, but complaints from the public indicate that the issue continues to persist. He stressed that public cooperation is essential to resolving the long-standing problem and making Malé a more pleasant place to live.
The council has asked residents to report locations where water is splashing onto roads by sending photos or videos to its hotline 9341144. It said community support will play an important role in identifying affected areas and helping authorities take appropriate action.
