President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the permanent list of applicants under the government’s “Housing for All” programme will be published this year.
Speaking at a press conference held at the President’s Office, President Muizzu said the housing allocation process is being carried out transparently and without external influence. He stressed that housing will be provided based on eligibility and not for any particular individual.
The President said the final list of flat recipients will be confirmed by the end of the year, with official notifications to follow.
A total of 58,505 applications were received under the scheme, including:
- 35,930 flat applications
- 22,575 land plot applications
The government plans to allocate 15,000 housing units, including 7,900 flats and land plots in the Greater Malé Region and Rasmalé.
The flat allocation includes:
- 4,000 flats for Malé residents
- 1,500 flats for residents of other islands living in Malé
- 2,400 flats for special priority categories
The “Housing for All” initiative remains one of the administration’s key commitments, aimed at providing housing opportunities for thousands of citizens.
