The President’s Office is introducing a new initiative that will allow citizens to submit their grievances directly to the President through regular public meetings.
Chief Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef announced that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is expected to meet members of the public once or twice a week, with arrangements for the programme now in their final stages. An official announcement will be made soon.
Speaking on PSM’s Nation Chat programme, President Muizzu said that while he currently engages with residents during island visits, the government aims to make it easier for all citizens to meet him directly.
The President also assured that cabinet officials at the President’s Office will continue working to address public concerns, even if individuals are unable to meet him in person.
The new programme is expected to streamline the submission of grievances, eliminating the need to wait for appointments or submit letters, while strengthening the government’s commitment to maintaining close engagement with the public.
