The Male’ Taxi Line mobile application is now available for iPhone users through the Apple App Store.
The app was launched as part of preparations for the new taxi service aimed at improving transportation across the Greater Male’ Region. Android users will also receive the application soon, while bookings can currently be made through a web platform or by calling 1655.
The service will operate using 150 electric vehicles, with 60 cars already brought to the Maldives and the remaining fleet expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
According to MTCC, the service will run 24 hours a day across Male’, Hulhumalé and Vilimalé, using a mix of vehicle types, including smaller cars suited for Male’s narrow roads. Officials say the project is designed to provide a safer, more reliable and environmentally friendly transport system.
