A newly built police station has been officially opened in A.A. Feridhoo.
The facility was inaugurated by Home Minister Ali Ihsaan and Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed during a ceremony attended by local council members, government officials and representatives from MTCC.
Built at a cost of MVR 2.04 million, the project was carried out by MTCC and included the construction of the police station building along with electricity and water systems.
Officials said the new facility will help strengthen policing services on the island, which has seen growth in tourism and guesthouse operations in recent years.
The government said the project forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and security across inhabited islands in the Maldives.
