Police Restructures Into 14 Commands

The new framework, which comes into effect on November 1, reduces the number of police commands from 17 to 14. Police said the changes are intended to strengthen administration, improve operational effectiveness and deliver services more efficiently.

Under the new structure, key functions have been reorganised into areas including intelligence, investigations, forensic services, internal security, regional policing and digital technology. Work is also underway to update policies related to officer appointments under the new system.

Police said the framework is designed to strengthen coordination across departments, make better use of resources and bring policing services closer to the public.
