The President’s Office has temporarily barred journalists from Adhadhu from attending its press conferences.
The decision follows allegations that a court order linked to the “Aisha” documentary was violated during a press conference held by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
The President’s Office said a criminal case is ongoing at the Criminal Court over video content circulated by the outlet. The Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission is also investigating the matter.
Adhadhu journalist Mohamed Shahuzan was accused of violating the court order after raising a question about the documentary. Shahuzan and journalist Livaan Ali Naseer have also been summoned to the Criminal Court for questioning.
