President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that employees who did not receive salary increases during the pay harmonization process will begin receiving revised salaries starting this month.
Speaking at a press conference held today, the President said the government is continuing efforts to fulfill its pledge of improving salaries for citizens across different sectors.
The President acknowledged that while the Pay Commission’s harmonization process increased salaries for many employees, some workers were left out due to various administrative and structural issues. He also noted that salaries for some employees had even decreased after the changes were implemented.
According to the President, the issue particularly affected HR staff, legal sector employees, and some council positions. He stated that discussions held with the Pay Commission had now resolved the concerns.
The President further said that employees facing unique situations would also receive special packages or tailored solutions through the Pay Commission.
He added that the Pay Commission has assured the government that employees who did not receive salary increases earlier would receive improved salaries from this month onward, with salaries set higher than their previous pay levels.
