PNC candidates has won key seats in Thoddoo, ending MDP’s majority on the island council.
Adam Naveen has been elected Council President with 604 votes, defeating MDP’s Hassan Naseef, who received 564 votes.
PNC has secured multiple council seats, including victories by Mariyam Suzi, Moosa Anil and Ali Rishan.
Aminath Simla has also been elected President of the Women’s Development Committee, winning 654 votes against MDP candidate Aminath Azeela.
Additional WDC seats were won by PNC candidates Aminath Ifna, Nabeela Adam and Havva Malisa.
The results mark a shift in political control of Thoddoo.
