Aishath Alaika Adnan has said her electoral defeat is not the end of her journey.
Alaika made the remarks after losing the Malé City WDC chair to MDP candidate Aishath Reesha.
In a post following the results, she described the campaign as meaningful and said she received strong support throughout. She noted the experience was not only about winning a position but engaging with families and advocating for equality.
Alaika has said she will continue to push for economic empowerment and financial independence. She also acknowledged challenges faced during her political journey but stressed her determination to move forward.
She has said her efforts will continue with renewed focus despite the outcome.
