Ali Khamenei has been killed in a series of airstrikes inside Iran, according to Iranian state media. Reports say his daughter and stepson were also killed in the attack.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed his death. Trump called it “justice for the American people” and signaled military operations would continue.
Iran vowed to avenge the killing.
Khamenei had led Iran since 1989, succeeding Ruhollah Khomeini.
