The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has urged passengers travelling to the Middle East to check their flight details before heading to Velana International Airport (VIA), as regional unrest continues to disrupt air traffic.
MACL said flight schedules may change due to temporary airspace closures in parts of the Middle East. Travellers are advised to confirm updates through official airline websites, mobile apps, or their travel agents.
The warning follows widespread disruptions after heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, which led to cancellations, rerouting, and delays across several international routes — including some flights to and from the Maldives.
Passengers can access real-time updates via MACL’s Flight Information Service (FIS) portal at fis.macl.aero.
