Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has completed 15 hectares of land reclamation at Giraavaru Falhu, marking 15.44% progress out of the planned 97.15 hectares.
Dredging operations are being carried out using the Queen of the Netherlands (35,500 cubic metres hopper capacity) and the Orange (22,000 cubic metres hopper capacity).
MACL commenced the project on 30 January 2026, with works progressing steadily.
