President Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the Judicial Year 2026 in a ceremony reviewing the judiciary’s achievements and setting priorities for the year ahead
The event was held at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and brought together judges and judicial staff from across the country.

A special segment honoured retired judges for their service. Chief Justice Uz Abdul Ghanee Mohamed delivered the annual Judicial Address.
The President presented plaques of honour to retired judges and staff, while seven individuals received plaques of appreciation for their contributions to the judicial sector, awarded by the Chief Justice.
