National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided temporary shelter to 21 people after a fire broke out in Hulhumalé last night.
The MNDF Fire Station responded at 3:30 a.m. to a blaze at a warehouse under a building on Lot No. 11154, Chambeli Magu, Phase 1. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 3:40 a.m.
Authorities said the main power panel was damaged, leaving the building without electricity. NDMA provided shelter and food for residents of two apartments.
MNDF reported that the fire started in a garbage dump outside the warehouse, shattered glass, and spread inside the warehouse.
