The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed key preparatory works and is gearing up to begin the tsunami memorial repair project on Boduthakurufaanu Magu.
MTCC said 85 metres of sheet piling have been completed under the project’s second phase. Land reclamation works and upgrades to the water and wastewater network are expected to finish by next week.
Preparations are now underway to install sheet piles for the new quay wall. MTCC said the project aims to protect the beach, strengthen waterfront infrastructure, and improve the long-term safety and resilience of the area.
