The government has scheduled a land draw for Giraavarufalhulhu this Saturday to randomly allocate plots to eligible land recipients under the Landowner scheme.
The Housing Ministry said the draw follows changes made to the Giraavarufalhulhu land use plan, which now includes 4,072 plots, up from 610 in the previous plan. The updated plan was gazetted on August 26 and has altered the sizes and locations of plots assigned to recipients.
The draw will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the Social Center hall and will be broadcast live on PSM. Plot details will also be shared with recipients via the Hiyaavehi portal and SMS.
Under the revised plan, the plots include 2,603 plots of 1,250 square feet, 1,214 plots of 1,650 square feet, 254 plots of 2,050 square feet, and one plot of 2,450 square feet.
If someone attends on behalf of a plot owner, they must present copies of both ID cards along with an authorization letter. The signing of land agreements and registration dates will be announced later.
