The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has awarded contracts to private companies to construct three Islamic centres across the Maldives.
The projects will be developed in Naifaru, Ihavandhoo, and Villingili. The Naifaru Islamic Centre, awarded to Central Line Private Limited, will accommodate 1,000 worshippers and include prayer halls for women, classrooms, a library and a convention hall.
The Ihavandhoo project was awarded to Fido Private Limited and will have a prayer capacity of 700, with space for women, classrooms, a library and a convention hall.
The Villingili Islamic Centre will be developed by K&F Holding Pvt Ltd, with prayer space for 700 people, along with classrooms, a library and a convention hall.
A separate Quran Centre project was also awarded to Afami Maldives Private Limited, featuring classrooms, hifz rooms and office spaces.
