A 14-year-old girl’s dream has come true after her favourite singer serenaded her on stage, helping raise awareness of scoliosis in front of thousands.
Isla, from Plymouth, was diagnosed with scoliosis around 18 months ago and has worn a back brace for up to 20 hours a day since. Wearing the brace visibly over her clothes, she joined Coldplay on stage at Wembley Stadium.
In front of 83,000 fans, lead singer Chris Martin invited Isla to sit with him for two songs. Isla later shared the moment online as part of her campaign to raise awareness of spinal curvature.
The video has since gained over 200,000 views, with messages of support from other young people with scoliosis. Isla said the experience boosted her confidence and helped her feel proud of wearing her brace.
