An employee of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has died after falling into the sea following a seizure while at work.
MPL said the employee suffered a seizure and fell into the sea at around 11:00am today. He was rescued and taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where he later died while receiving treatment.
State media Public Service Media (PSM), citing MPL, identified the employee as 30 year old Ameen Abdul Hameed.
