The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged employers to re-register expatriate work sites whose projects have expired, as authorities move to tighten controls on foreign workers.
The ministry said all registered work sites will be shifted to “Pending Site Clearance” from today. Sites that have not received a quota for more than a year will be marked “inactive” from next Sunday.
To reactivate expired sites, employers must renew documents and update details through the Expat system.
The move comes under wider efforts, including Operation Kurangi, to better monitor expatriates and address illegal employment.
