The Elections Commission has opened the application period for candidates contesting the local council and Women’s Development Committee elections scheduled for 4 April.
Applications are open until 1 February and must be submitted through the Commission’s online portal. Decisions on eligibility will also be posted there.
Applications can be submitted Saturday to Thursday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, and Fridays, 3:30 pm–6:00 pm.
The elections will choose mayors and city council members, along with island council presidents and members. Women’s Development Committees will elect chairpersons and members.
