Work has commenced on sheet piling along Boduthakurufaanu Magu as part of the second phase of the road development project.
According to the contractor, 65 percent of the old quay wall removal has been completed, while 40 percent of the settlement tank installation is now complete.
MTCC said construction of sewerage systems and water pipelines along the road will be finished within this week.
The second phase of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu project covers the stretch from the local market to the North Harbour and is expected to be completed before Ramadan next year.
