Maldives Ports Limited Sets 10-Day Limit for Temporary Vessel Parking at MMA

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced that vessels temporarily parked in front of Malé Market Area (MMA) will be allowed to operate for a maximum of 10 days.

MPL has designated an area 100 meters west of the local market for temporary vessel parking to facilitate the Segment 2 development of Boduthakurufaanu Magu. Vessels requiring parking beyond 10 days can join a queue and access the keywall in order after being registered.

The company stated that the decision aims to ensure fair and equal service for all vessels. The second phase of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu expansion project is expected to last three months, with work on the Malé North Harbour area having started on November 20.
