The Ministry of Finance has reopened bids for a consultancy to prepare the transport master plan for Rasmalé, the government’s flagship housing and eco city project.
The consultancy will carry out studies and draft a comprehensive transport plan for Rasmalé, a reclaimed island near Malé spanning 1,009 hectares. The project aims to build a safe, reliable, and sustainable transport link between Malé and Rasmalé.
The ministry said the consultant will be selected using the Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) method under public finance rules. Shortlisting criteria are detailed in the Terms of Reference, now available on the ministry’s website.
Interested parties must submit Expressions of Interest by 31 December via mail or email.
Work on Rasmalé began on 18 December 2023. The project is expected to deliver around 65,000 housing units and develop the island as an eco friendly city, planned to become the Indian Ocean’s first zero carbon city.
