Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to carry out several major development projects in Addu City, launched during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the region.
At a ceremony held upon the President’s arrival, work officially began on two key projects: the establishment of an Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) and a National Library.
Emergency Operation Centre
Under this project, MTCC will construct a two-storey building on 4,338 square feet of land, with each floor measuring 2,368 square feet.

National Library — Addu City
A second two-storey building will be developed on an 11,250-square-foot plot.

Swimming Track Project
MTCC has also been awarded a project to construct a floating swimming track in Maradhoo-Feydhoo.

School Development Projects
The company has additionally been contracted to build multi-purpose halls for:

These halls are expected to expand student facilities and support extracurricular and community activities.
MTCC stated that the projects align with the administration’s broader goals of improving public infrastructure, enhancing emergency preparedness, and expanding educational resources across Addu City.
