Velana International Airport (VIA) has started flights for China’s Sichuan Airlines from its new Terminal 1, expanding the terminal’s international services.
A ceremony was held today to mark the launch. Mohamed Shareef, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Maldives, attended the event, along with MACL officials and Mohamed Fayaz, Station Manager of Villa Travels.
Sichuan Airlines’ check-in counters were officially opened during the ceremony. Gifts were given to 142 outbound passengers, while 163 arrivals on flight 3U3923 were welcomed with cultural performances.
With Sichuan Airlines’ addition, 19 airlines now operate from Terminal 1. MACL said the expansion ref.lects its commitment to offering high-quality services to all carriers visiting the Maldives
