Several major reclamation and harbour development projects are moving forward this week, according to the latest progress updates from project teams.
At Lh. Naifaru, land reclamation has reached 16%, with sand bund works at 25%. The project aims to reclaim 2.29 million cbm and install revettments, breakwaters, and groynes to tackle land shortages.
In S. Feydhoo, dredging is underway for the harbour expansion signed on 1 June 2023. The upgrade adds new quaywall space, a concrete bridge, and improved shore protection.
At Sh. Maaungoodhoo, the harbour project initiated in 2022 continues to advance. The fourth shipment of rock boulders has arrived, raising progress to 76%. The works include basin dredging, channel dredging, breakwater, quay wall, revetment, paving, and jetty construction.
In K. Girifushi, teams are preparing for sand bund works as part of the reclamation and harbour upgrade package.
