Maldives Immigration has announced that the country will fully shift to an e-Visa system for work visas starting 23 November 2025.
The announcement explains that work visa stickers will stop being valid after 23 November 2025. Immigration will automatically update all existing work visas to e-Visas. Officials said the e-Visa will be the only recognized work visa from that date.
From 23 November 2025, authorities will allow departure and entry only for individuals holding a valid e-Visa.
Immigration also stated that new expatriates must secure a valid Entry Pass from the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology before arrival.
The agency said the validity of each e-Visa will match the validity of the individual’s work permit.
