President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the public not to worry about the salary harmonization process, assuring it was designed for lasting benefit.
Speaking in Fuvahmulah City last night, the President said the new pay structure, effective from November 1, followed careful research.
He asked institutional heads to work with the Pay Commission to address staff concerns and noted the Commission can act in special cases.
President Muizzu said over 20,000 employees have already received salary increases, with more sectors to follow next year.
He added that the minimum basic salary is now MVR 7,000, which will also boost pension contributions.
