The new passenger terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA) has officially begun serving US-Bangla Airlines, marking another expansion in international airline operations at the facility.
A special ceremony was held at Terminal 1 to inaugurate the airline’s services. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Airline Operators Committee of Maldives, Munaz Ali, along with senior officials from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
As part of the ceremony, US-Bangla Airlines opened its check-in counters and presented gifts to the 108 passengers departing on the inaugural flight. Passengers arriving on the airline’s first inbound flight, BS337, were welcomed with traditional cultural performances.
US-Bangla Airlines is now the 20th airline to begin operations from Terminal 1.
MACL stated that the company remains committed to delivering the highest quality of service to all airlines operating to the Maldives.
