Muizzu Calls for Islamic Standards in Film Industry

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called on the Maldivian film industry to ensure all activities align with Islamic principles.

The President made the appeal in a social media post today. He said the Maldives is a 100 percent Muslim nation. He urged citizens to keep their actions within Islamic boundaries.

Muizzu said public figures must set a positive example. He stressed that guiding the younger generation through Islamic culture is a key duty.

The call followed public criticism over a red-carpet incident at Olympus last night. A man appeared at a film premiere wearing an outfit which resembled womens’ clothing, triggering widespread debate.

The President responded by reminding the industry of its responsibility. He asked filmmakers, actors, and event organizers to act in line with national and religious values.
