Azerbaijan Airlines began operations today from Velana International Airport’s new Terminal 1.
The airline operated its first flight, J2301, to the new terminal this morning. A total of 156 passengers arrived. MACL welcomed them with traditional cultural performances.
A special ceremony marked the start of the service. STO CEO and Managing Director Shimad Ibrahim attended as the chief guest. Avia Maldives Director Ahmed Arshad joined the event with senior MACL officials.
Azerbaijan Airlines becomes the 16th airline to operate from Terminal 1. MACL aims to expand services and raise service quality for all airlines using the new terminal.
The company says Terminal 1 is designed to support growing arrivals and offer passengers a modern travel experience.
