President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has completed his visit to every one of the Maldives’ 187 inhabited islands and cities in just one year and eleven months.
President Muizzu led the historic tour, accompanied by Cabinet ministers, island council members and officials from state-owned enterprises. He visited every inhabited island and city in the Maldives, meeting with island councils, Women’s Development Committees and local residents to discuss development needs.The final stop was K. Thulusdhoo, concluding tours across Lh. and K. Atoll
He achieved this feat within 23 months of his administration starting. The tour aimed to carry out rapid, decentralised development, consult directly with communities and reduce bureaucratic delays.
President Muizzu’s sweep of the islands underscores the administration’s push for inclusive development across the archipelago. He launched island-specific initiatives during the visits including expanded healthcare, local policing and financial services.
By meeting directly with residents and island leadership, the President says the government will accelerate tangible progress in education, housing and public welfare making sure no community is left behind.
