Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has officially commenced physical works on the shore development project in L. Maavah.
A ceremony was held on Monday to mark the beginning of the project. The event was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, officially launched the physical works. Also present at the ceremony were MTCC’s Managing Director, (Retd) DCP Ahmed Saudee, along with senior company officials.
Under the project, MTCC will carry out:

Reclamation of 38,900 cubic meters of land

445 meters of revetment construction

An 11-meter by 11-meter breakwater

A 226-meter by 2-meter concrete jetty

2,298 square meters of paving works
According to MTCC, the project is valued at MVR 23.46 million and is scheduled to be completed within 300 days.
