Ooredoo Maldives and PayPal are partnering to bring PayPal services to the Maldives in 2026, a major boost for the country’s digital economy.
The new service will allow Maldivians to send and receive money, shop from PayPal merchants worldwide, and transfer funds between PayPal and m- Faisaa accounts.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said the integration with m-Faisaa is a “major step” toward financial inclusion and modernizing financial services.
The partnership will help local entrepreneurs and freelancers access global markets, promote exports, and expand digital trade. The Economic Ministry noted the initiative follows two years of discussions with PayPal and other partners.
