MTCC Signs Agreement for Milandhoo Coastal Protection Project

The government  has signed an agreement with MTCC to begin the second phase of the coastal protection project in Sh. Milandhoo.

The agreement was signed in Milandhoo between the Ministry of Construction and the  Minister of State for Housing and Infrastructure Hassan Rasheed signed on behalf of the Ministry, while MTCC’s Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Saadhee, signed for the company.

Cabinet ministers, members of the People’s Majlis, Milandhoo Island Council, and senior government officials attended the event.

Home to 2,078 residents, Milandhoo faces severe erosion. The new project aims to protect the island’s coast and improve safety for residents. It includes constructing a 712-meter revetment and 228-meter groynes. The MVR 50.46 million project will be completed within 210 days.

President Muizzu also launched practical work on a new health complex to enhance local medical services. The MVR 110.87 million project includes new accommodation and service buildings, to be completed in 600 days.

Established in 1980, MTCC has delivered key infrastructure projects nationwide, driving the Maldives’ development for over four decades.
