The government has added the ADh. Fofalhagau lagoon to Kunburudhoo, following a request from residents to use it for housing and livelihood projects.
The move aims to address land shortages and expand development opportunities on the island. Residents had proposed using the lagoon to support population growth and boost local income.
As a result, the Presidential Decree listing inhabited islands has been amended.
The amendment reflects the government’s commitment to local development and has been published in the official Government Gazette appendix.
